Drivers

The first thing I notice about other drivers on the road is their type of car and license plate. If someone is driving a little red sports car I expect that they will be driving fast and recklessly. On the other hand when I see an old looking car with an old blue New Jersey license plate I expect them to be going about 10 mph below the speed limit. Although this is not always the case it is what pops into my mind when I see these types of cars.

There are many different kinds of drivers that roam the streets today. There are good drivers, bad drivers, and people that think they are good drivers. You need to be confident while driving, but not too confident that you become dangerous to yourself and others. There is definitely a big difference between drivers because some people are more cautious than others. People who are more cautious drive slower and will wait longer before making turns, while people that are less cautious will speed and cut people off. It is better to be a more cautious driver, but you cannot be too cautious. As dangerous as it is to speed it is also dangerous to drive too slow. When driving on the parkway or highway if you drive too slow people will be speeding by you like crazy which is scarier then just keeping up with the flow of traffic. Even though I have only had my license for about a year I have experienced some crazy drivers. There are people that drives super fast and they just cut you off. Especially when you are driving on a highway or parkway people will weave in and out of lanes in order to get in front of everyone else. These types of drivers are annoying and dangerous to themselves and everyone else on the road.

I think it depends on the person if their personalities change when they are behind the wheel of a car. For the most part if you are a calm and relaxed person in general you will most likely be a calm and relaxed driver. Same goes for if you are an aggressive person you will be the person that cuts everyone off and speeds. Other people get too comfortable when behind the wheel of a car. You get into a routine and sometimes people lose do not pay as close attention to the road as they should. Especially when driving to the same roads everyday you start to zone out while driving and not really pay attention.

I want to be a good driver who pays attention and is safe on the road. Occasionally I will find myself zoning out, but I normally pay close attention to my surroundings. I always try to be kind on the road like letting people make a left turn if there is a long line of cars waiting, but I could also get frustrated while driving. It is frustrating when people drive too slow and you are stuck behind them or when someone is so close behind you that youcan not even see their headlightsl. Although some drivers can be irritating I alwasy try to stay calm when behind the wheel of a car.
