People should definitely be punished if they do something wrong in society because if people were not punished then there is no point in having rules in the first place. Rules are in place for a specific reason whatever that reason may be. Although there are many different rules some rules that are broken are more serious than others. For example, if a serial killer murders someone they should have a more severe punishment than a person who was going five miles per hour over the speed limit.
The way that the criminal justice system works today is pretty good, but in my opinion there could be some changes. For example, people should not be able to just pay a certain amount of money and just get out of jail. If a millionaire committed a crime they would be more likely to get out of jail because they would be able to afford the bail price, as opposed to a normal middle class citizen. It should not matter how much money you have if you do the crime you should have to do the time. I feel like every time a professional NFL football players gets arrested for doing something they are never in jail as long as their sentence is for. They should not be able to get out of jail early just because they are rich and famous. In my criminal justice system there would be no excuse to get out of jail before someones sentence is up. If they committed a crime and were sentenced to two years in jail it does not make sense to let them out after one year. The system is contradicting itself and it just makes it look ridiculous.
I definitely believe there should be prisons because if there was not prisons all the murderers and thieves would be just running around the streets and not being punished for their crimes. If someone commits a certain amount of the same crime they should be put into jail because they should learn from their mistakes. For example, if someone gets caught shoplifting they should not be put right in jail they should be able to get a second chance and hopefully learn from their mistakes. If the same person is caught shoplifting continuously then there should be another more serious punishment that should be put on that person.
There are many punishments that deserve life sentences in my opinion like murder, and on the other hand there are other crimes like speeding that should have a less intense punishment. I think the way the system works today is very effective. Most people who are caught speeding just end up with a ticket as their punishment and when a murder murders someone they are normal put in jail for a very long time if not for life. The way the criminal justice system works today is pretty good in my opinion, except for the fact that they change the time of a prisoners sentence instead of sticking to what they decided in the beginning.

WIldcard: Senior Year
Wildcard Blog
Ever since I was a freshmen everyone told me that senior year was the best. It was the year that everyone took easy classes and just had fun for their last year of high school. Going through my first three years of high school I continued to look forward to senior year because everyone made it sound like a breeze. As a freshman I imagined it as a break year before leaving home and going off to college. Don't get me wrong I am definitely enjoying senior year so far, but it is not at all what I was expecting it to be.
I have never in my life felt as stressed as I have these past few months. Now a days you cannot just take all electives for your senior year because it does not look good for college. So as I walked into school in the beginning of September I faced my schedule of honors classes and academic electives. Honors calculus alone is enough to get me stressed out and then adding all my other classes to that is a lot. I have always taken honors classes throughout high school, but for some reason this year seems like a lot more work than the previous years.
With all of the work from my classes then I had to worry about college applications. Thankfully most of the colleges I applied to were from the Common Application, but it still required a lot of time and work. With these applications I pretty much had to fill out my entire life. I listed every extra curricular activity and community service I have done the past four years.
On top of all of these things it was soccer season. Soccer season is always very tiring and a lot of work, but this year was extra important. With 10 starting seniors on the team that have been playing together since a young age we were expected to have a very successful season. There was a lot of stress on the field as well because everyone expected us to do good. We would have made ourselves, our coaching staff, and Central look bad if we would not have had a good season.
I was extremely overwhelmed these first few months of school. All the work, college, soccer, and deciding whether I want to play soccer in college had me at my wits end. Luckily these past few weeks have gotten a lot better. I finished applying to college, ended up with all A's and B's on my report card, and we had a very successful soccer season. Everything is starting to turn around and I am slowly becoming less stressed. I went for an overnight visit to William Paterson University and stayed with the soccer team. It was a great experience and really made whole view on college a lot better. I received my acceptance letter from William Paterson a few days ago and a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. I feel like I can finally start enjoying senior year more now that the hardest part is over.

Traveling
I think that traveling is an awesome thing. It is amazing to me that on the opposite side of the world it is daytime while it is nighttime here. It is weird how there are so many different languages and cultures throughout the entire world. If I had an unlimited amount of money to travel I would want to go everywhere. I would want to be able to experience all of the deferent cultures, languages, food, and lifestyles around the world.
The first place I would want to go is to Texas. Not only is the culture different in other countries, but even in our own country there are many differences from the east coast to the southwest. I have always said that after I graduate high school I want to take a road trip with a group of friends. I want to visit the mall of America in Minnesota and that would definitely be a lot of fun to do with a group of friends. Of course I thought this up a long time ago and I doubt that we will be able to go after graduating high school, but maybe after college.
Another thing I really enjoy is going on cruises. I went on one cruise to the Bahamas a few years ago and it was amazing. If i had an unlimited amount of money to travel I would definitely take a cruise. Sometimes when you just visit a place for a week or two it could get boring, but with a cruise you have the time on the boat and then the time when you get to wherever your going. When you go on a cruise I think it is more interesting and there is always something to do on the cruise ship. They normally have activities all night long so you could pretty much do anything you want to.
In addition to traveling throughout the United States I would want to tour through Europe. I want to visit Italy and France because there are so many things to do there. I would love to visit Italy and be able to experience eating real Italian food. In France I would want to visit Paris and the Eiffel Tower. I think it would be an amazing experience to be able to visit these other countries and be exposed to their language and culture. If I had an unlimited amount of money then while I was staying there I would want to stay in a luxury hotel. It would be awesome to have an unlimited amount of money to travel so I would want to be able to make the best of my experience while I was traveling.
I hope that one day I could have an unlimited amount of money to travel anywhere I wanted to. There are so many interesting places in the world that I could visit and I hope that one day I can visit a lot of them. Even if I do not have an unlimited amount of money I would still like to travel. When I travel I want to travel with my friends or a big group of people. I am an only child, so when I travel with just my parents sometimes it is a little boring being the only kid, but even traveling with just my parents is a lot of fun.
