Anger

Anger is an emotion that everyone has, but at the same time everyone tries to avoid. No one likes to feel angry because it makes them upset and can lead to bad decisions. Some people are good at controlling their anger, but others are not. Some people bottle up their anger and do not express their feelings. If someone keeps all their anger inside for a long time they will eventually snap and do something they may regret later. People need to express their feelings whether it be to cry or scream at the top of your lungs you cannot let your feelings bottle up inside you.
There are many different things that make me angry. One random thing that makes me really angry is the hiccups. For some reason whenever I get the hiccups I cannot get rid of them. I try all the tricks like holding your breath and having someone scare you, but none of them work for me. In my opinion, it is the most frustrating thing and it makes me very angry. Although hiccups make me mad so do some people. Certain people think they are better than everyone else and they have bad attitudes. I normally try to avoid people like that, but sometimes you are forced to associate with them. For example, if I have to work or be on a team with people that are stuck up it makes me angry. I also become angry when I get too far behind in schoolwork or other things I have to do. Most of my anger comes from being mad at myself like if I am playing bad in a soccer game or don’t finish my schoolwork on time.
Although it is tough dealing with anger, I think I handle it pretty well. I do feel anger a lot, but I try not to take it out on anyone. This is extremely hard to do and sometimes I do lash out to my friends and feel really bad afterwards. Luckily, my friends understand because everyone gets that feeling of anger sometimes. A lot of people tell me that they have never seen me angry which makes me feel good. Although it is bad in the long run I try to keep my anger inside. When in the middle of a situation I just try to calm down and take deep breaths that way I will not do something I will regret later. Then afterwards I take out my anger either by myself or with my parents or friends. I normally spill my feelings to those people that are closest to me, or I have a good cry to myself. Either way I feel so much better after expressing my feelings.
If I was giving someone with a short temper advice I would say to just calm down and look at the bright side of the situation. Every situation, even the worst ones, have a positive side to them. I try to do this in my mind when I am in the middle of a situation that makes me angry. If you just try to calm down and keep your feelings to yourself until you have calmed down. After your calm you can talk out the problem that made you angry or just take time to yourself and express your feelings by yourself.
